When Your Vehicle Should Ride on a Flatbed
A flatbed tow truck carries your vehicle entirely on its deck, with all four wheels off the road. That matters for a lot of what we tow in New Orleans: low-clearance sports cars that would scrape on a wheel-lift, all-wheel-drive and 4x4 vehicles that can be damaged if two wheels are left turning, electric vehicles and hybrids whose drivetrains must not roll, and accident-damaged cars with bent frames or missing wheels. Flatbed vs. Wheel-Lift
A wheel-lift truck picks up the front or rear wheels and tows the vehicle on its remaining two; it is quicker and fine for most front-wheel-drive cars on short trips. A flatbed takes a few more minutes to load but eliminates drivetrain wear, bumper contact and tire scuffing entirely. Frequently Asked Questions
Does flatbed towing cost more than a regular tow?
Slightly, because loading takes longer and the truck is larger, but the difference is small compared with a damaged transmission or bumper. We quote the exact price before we hook up.
Can a flatbed fit in a downtown parking garage?
Usually not; most garages are too low. In that case we bring the vehicle out with a wheel-lift and dolly and transfer it to the flatbed at street level. Tell us where the car is and we will plan it.
Do you tow Teslas and other electric vehicles?
Yes. EVs must be flatbedded with the vehicle in transport mode, and our operators know the procedure for Tesla, Rivian, Ford and GM models.
Can you deliver my car to a shop outside New Orleans?
